How do we define what an Artisan is?

A worker in a skilled trade, especially one that involves making things by hand, states one online Tome.
So an artisan is a worker. A creator. A maker. However, the person must also be a thinker, I must assume.
Artisan is a broad brush; it covers many things. Food, crafts, trades and more fall under the label. An artisan can be a baker, a thatcher, a brewer and a very long list of other things. One thing that unites all of these people is their skills, and another their passion. Dedication must also be included in the list. One could even label it ‘A Calling‘ such is the lifestyle that surrounds those involved. Artisans are supremely skilled at what they do. Dedicated also. Most are in it for the love of it. - Artisan/Artisanal (must be made in small quantities by skilled craftspeople and produced at a single location)
- Farmhouse (must be made on a farm)
- Traditional (must be a recipe that has existed without significant modification for a minimum of 30 years)
- Natural (can’t be applied to a food when all other similar foods are natural, as set out by EU rules)
